2010 Assault On Morrow Mountain Series.

Six "show-and-go" rides are planned for this year, approx. 60 miles each and with approx 4400' of gain:

March 20, April 10, May 8, June 12, August 14, and September 11.

These dates are subject to change due to weather: if temps are below 40F at the start, no ride. If there is a 35% chance of precip, no ride due to fast-changing conditions at the top of MM. Doesn't hurt to check back at the site for any changes as the dates get closer.

These rides are unsupported, but there are three rest stops: convenience stores at miles 19 and 42, and a water-only stop at the top of Morrow Mountain at mile 32.

The last half of the ride following the descent is actually tougher than the first half. The last five miles is nothing but a climb from hell.

Egad. I note that this ride is scheduled for the same day as the proposed date for the annual "Out Like A Lion" road race in the same area.

Would be wise to keep an eye on changes to the date of this first of six rides, assuming the race does wind up being on 3/20.
