doesn't everyone?

went to the indoor range last night...ordered a full set of stabilizers for the bow and got an hour of practice in....also got invited to a comp shoot coming up in nov. Haven't decided yes or no yet. They were saying I was shooting well enough to at least place....I don't feel like I'm quite there yet.

Any plans to practice shooting your bow & arrow while riding a horse? That would be a useful skill for when zombies roam the earth.

So the merino wool hoody I ordered that was supposed to arrive either tomorrow or next week arrived today. I'm not complaining cuz it's kinda chilly in here so I'm testing it out now. Now I'm kinda warm. This thing works well.

Woke up at 4:30am with a migraine. Managed to take a Goody powder (I keep them on the nightstand, 'cause if I feel a headache coming on, I can usually head it off with a powder).

FAIL.

By 5:30am, I realized my only hope was to go sit up on the sofa (less pressure in my head) with frozen gel pak on my head and try to sleep. I did this, and took another sip of water. Then...very suddenly had to vomit. I barely made it. The wretching made the headache worse. I stumbled to the kitchen for a fresh gel-pak and stumbled back to the sofa. Wanted to take another powder, but didn't dare. Eventually I slept a bit.

Woke up around 9am, put on my sunglasses, and went to the kitchen for a fresh gel pak. I cautiously sipped some water. Good. Drank maybe four ounces of OJ. Still good. Brewed coffee then took a few sips after I got back to the sofa. Tasted good, but left me feeling dehydrated, so I took a sip of water to clear my mouth. Lay back. And...very suddenly had to vomit again. And again, barely made it. I tossed up liquids twice, then uncontrollable dry heaves. This time, it felt as if the top of my head had blown off.

Stumbled back to kitchen for a fresh gel pak then back to the darkened living room. Utterly miserable. Dozed off and on, finally waking up at 3:30pm with still a small headache and feeling weak and hungry, but still not daring to eat or drink.

Took care of some financial business, then had to get a couple of things out to the post office because I'd been unable to get them out for pickup earlier. By the time I left the post office, headache was completely gone, and I was hungry but didn't feel like cooking, so I did something that I rarely do: I hit McD's for BOGO BigMacs. I knew that once the headache was gone, I'd be able to eat with no problem, and devour them I did, along with half a liter of water. That was half an hour ago. Still feeling good, but tired.

Now I need to focus on getting myself out to the hospital this evening for a short visit to my friend....

Sure hope tomorrow is better, and extra-productive to make up for lost productivity today.

Hope you're feeling better VV. I don't think I've ever had a migraine. I don't believe I want one after seeing how they affect Kyle and hearing about others' experiences with them.

I worked till 6pm today. Trying to get something done at work that I've been working on for the past 2 weeks. Should have been done in a couple of days, but my lack of concentration for a full day of work has caused me to not be done. I hope to finish tomorrow though, even if I have to work till 12:30-1pm (2-2.5hr over). I was late 1.5hr on Tues (I think), so I've made that time up and, I want to go visit Kyle next weekend.

He has 10/6-10/9 off. I will most likely go down on Friday, then spend Saturday and part of Sunday with him and head back home sometime Sunday. Need to look into a hotel for a couple of nights...

He has some time off at Tday and maybe another week off, then he gets shipped out to Kandahar on 12/4. We will get together with all family probably at Tday and then I will need to get his car to keep here while he is gone.

Anyways.....hope y'all have a good night!

Feeling much better! Thanks, WP.

The concentration thing will get better. At first, you'll think of him a lot, then the thoughts will increasingly move to the background, like a program running in the back of your mind while you are concsiously thinking of and doing other things. It will get easier to manage over time. Promise.

You should take your bike down, just in case you can sneak in a ride if he's busy for a couple of hours.

I think my friend will be moved back to the rehab facility tomorrow. I hope so. She's chompin' at the bit to get back into the gym and get her strength back. She's started to feel connected to "the outside world" again, and she wants to get home asap. She's already making plans for things she's gotten behind on while in the hospital. Yay!

I'll go out and visit her tomorrow evening, then not again 'til Tuesday evening. Need my weekends for me, particularly given that others who can't come out during the week will be there then. And the other woman who's been coming out will be out on Monday evening.

Sure hope I can get my rides (and a date!) in this weekend, and otherwise make lots of progress on my do-list. I still have at least 60 items on it.

Well, tomorrow is another day. Better get to bed while the sleepin's good.

VV, sorry to read about your migraine. Ugh. I had some in my late 30s/early 40s associated with a monthly cycle but always experienced an aura that clued me in...so I had about 15 min. to prep for it. Never vomited but always needed aspirin, a dark room, silence, and eventually I'd sleep it off. Always woke up like you and your BOGO -- ravenous.

WP, you've got some stuff on your plate, between your dad and Kyle. Love on your grandbabies (unless Taylor freaks out, you should be fine) and please experience the highs and lows. They aren't always where you want to be, but you need to be there and squeeze all the learning out of it that you can. VV described it well.

I your proficiency with the bow, MV, but please keep your ass covered up. My retinas can't take the burning.
