Morning....sipping coffee, watching the tele.
Just finished Chapter 3 of Managerial Finance. Have some people installing a retractable screen door at the back door (french doors). Painter coming at 10 to give me an estimate.....then I'm headed to the archery shop for an item or two....hopefully will get some practice in before the rain today.
Also looking to get 45 minutes in with Coach Troy before having dinner with the kid tonight.
Y'all have a good Saturday.

Since I've started frequenting the local gun shops more, I'm noticing a lot more places that carry archery/bow-hunting equipment. I recently saw something in the paper advertising a "come and try" archery session. Wish I'd cut that out. Might have been fun.

Archery is fun....at least to me. I get in a zone and it's just me and the target. Everyone and everything else is just gone....it's kind of relaxing actually. Some find it really frustrating....but then again, some find golf really frustrating. I guess I just enjoy target sports (and golf is just that).

I like shooting for the same reason. Just me and the pistol. Breathe in, breathe out, slowly squeeze the trigger until suddenly...BAM!

"Bulls-eye."

Very relaxing, almost meditative, not to mention immediate gratification of seeing the hole in the inner circle.

So....the hiking was canceled today because of rain. The trainer for Taylor (& really me) arrived around 330p. We had a good session.

Taylor is such a good doggie. I just needed some refresher on how to train her. 2 sessions per day, morning and evening for about 10 minutes. We'll work on the Down command, the door (when someone knocks, she goes crazy and takes over the door), some feeding issues, and some fear issues (she shies away from you when you try to go straight to rubbing her head and doesn't like for her front paws to be touched). Both of those things can be rehab'd.

Took the Ridley X-Fire cx frame/fork over to Dallas after the trainer session - I'm buying his American Classic Carbon Tubular wheels/tires and the rest of the components from his cx bike. He's going to build my bike up over the next week or so. Then, when it is finished, I can head out to Umstead for rides after work.

Meeting CheeseNips tomorrow in Salisbury to pick up the Prius & the rest of Dad's stuff. Not sure what I'll do the remainder of the day....

Watching a bit of tv this evening and will be going to bed shortly, as the train for Salisbury leaves Cary at 6:57a.

Does the Prius still smell of dead squirrel?

Well, I'm $1000 lighter, and one Kimber heavier. And I already got around 50 rounds off with it this evening, including some shots using the laser grip. Gotta adjust that a bit for me.

LOL...it damn well better not! No, he said he's taken it to be washed & cleaned up inside.

VV - I would love to do some shootin'. Sounds like you are having some fun with it. I grew up shooting, anything from pistols, rifles, shotguns. I need to look into getting a pistol or rifle and doing some shooting. It was such fun.....

We had a great time. I bought my pistol and used it there, and he brought his two. He also left with a Rock River Arms 5.56/223 caliber rifle. Was one expensive date for us both!

You should hit up a range near you. Just go in, give them your DL, you get to rent a gun (likely after taking a short orientation course to the rules of the range), and buy their ammo for use in it. Test-fire a different pistol or revolver each time, and then decide if you want to buy.

The range we went to tonight has a ladies' night once a week from 6-9pm. Each of two bays has eight lanes, and one bay is reserved for women only. Women rent handgun and lane for half-price. A range in your area may have a similar ladies' night.
