Sorry, I've never been arrested and I just assumed when you posted bail, that money is gone. I'm a naive, never been molested in a jail cell noob.

Depends on if he had the cash laying around, which he probably did.

Poor folk get to go to a bailbondsman who puts up the bail in exchange for keeping 10% or so. If he went to a bailbondsman, he'd be out $3k.

(I'm sure Adam knows this better than I do, since my knowledge is based solely on bounty hunter fiction)

I've got some handcuffs

Bail is used as a guarantee that the defendant will show up for court. By the end of the trial it is returned regardless of the courts verdict.

Now if he skips or doesn't show up to court then the bail is forfeited and our county has made more money.

Simply expressing that anyone deserves this shows what a disturbed and marginalized fool this person is. It would be interesting to sleuth this person out...
